Kingmakers of Oakland
A nonprofit organization that supports educational leaders in Engaging, Encouraging, and Empowering African American Males.

Kingmakers of Oakland  (KOO) exists to improve culture, conditions, and competencies across the district in order to better serve children and families situated farthest from opportunity. Born out of Oakland Unified School District's Office of African American Male Achievement (AAMA), KOO has a ten-year history of implementing using a Targeted Universalism approach to “treat the fish, while changing the toxic ecosystem.” KOO leads professional development for adults in Oakland schools and in partner districts.

Kimakers of Oakland (KOO) is a newly founded non-profit that will take AAMA learnings, methods, curriculum, and theory of action to provide services to districts across the country.
